Alex Sexton is an Air Force veteran and business developer with more than 20 years of experience in project management and logistics. As parents of three Dragons, Alex and his wife Jennifer are deeply invested in the future of CISD and helping our local schools achieve success.

Throughout his life, Alex has maintained a strong commitment to service before self. He received a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from The Citadel, Military College of South Carolina, before going on to receive his M.B.A. from Wright State University.  Alex has attended graduate level marketing courses at Clemson to further strengthen his education.

With a professional background in contracts, finance and marketing, Alex seeks to put his executive experience and team-building skills to work as a member of the CISD school board – helping to responsibly manage the district’s resources and maximize returns for all Dragons. His service in the United States Air Force instilled in him a deep commitment to service and leadership, which has uniquely qualified him to serve in this important role.

“I am dedicated to the success of CISD and if elected, I would be honored to serve as your next school board member for Place 6. With three children currently in our schools, I am acutely aware of the biggest issues and challenges facing our district and have a genuine commitment to making our CISD schools the very best they can be. I have the time, the energy, and the vision needed to be successful in this role, and I look forward to serving the families of our community as a school board member.”

Alex, his wife Jennifer (a former full-time elementary teacher for five years in Title I schools) and three kids are residents of Southlake. Together, they attend Milestone Church.

The Sextons live a service-oriented life.  Alex is a member of the CISD Strategic Planning Committee and has a long-standing commitment to our community that also includes serving on the City of Southlake Zoning Board of Adjustments. Alex previously served as a Cub Scout Leader, a youth soccer coach; and youth football coach and has volunteered his time in various capacities in classrooms in multiple states. Jennifer currently volunteers bi-weekly in the front office at Carroll High School, holds the position of Freshman Leadership Chair for Young Men's Service League (YMSL), volunteers for the National Charity League, and has previously supported and volunteered for Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Both Alex and Jennifer serve on the Young life Committee and their children attend Young Life Southlake. Their oldest daughter was recently appointed as the Director of Operations for a local non-profit Charitable organization, their son is also involved in Young Men’s Service League (YMSL), and their youngest daughter serves in the National Charity League (NCL).
